Asta
Status: Available for Adoption
Age: 17 Weeks (Born Oct 30, 2025)
Gender: Female
Estimated Adult Size: Medium (Approx. 35 lbs)
Breed Mix: Catahoula Leopard Dog / Australian Cattle Dog / American Staffordshire Terrier
Overview
Asta is a resilient "Red-List" survivor and one of Mama Luna’s babies. As the runt of her litter, Asta is a "pint-sized" version of her sisters, making her the perfect choice for a family looking for a medium-sized companion with a big personality.
Personality & Training
Asta is a highly intelligent, "medical-grade" rescue who has thrived under our structured care. She is a quick learner who is eager to please.
Commands: She is proficient in "Sit," "Go Potty," and "Go to your room" (crate command). She is currently working on "Stay."
House Training: She is making excellent progress with potty training and is crate trained.
Temperament: Loving, playful, and loyal. She has a typical puppy "off-switch" and enjoys her naps after a good play session.
Ideal Home "Prescription"
To ensure Asta’s long-term success, we are seeking a specific environment based on her past foster assessment:
No Cats: Asta finds feline-heavy environments overwhelming. She requires a cat-free household.
Canine Companions: She does wonderful with younger, playful dogs (she is currently best friends with our 1-year-old, Bowie). She may be too energetic for very senior dogs.
Adopter Profile: Needs a patient owner committed to continuing her puppy education and providing a loving, structured environment.

Lucy
Status: Available for Adoption
Age: 1 Year, 8 Months (Approx.)
Gender: Female (Spayed)
Breed Mix: Beagle / Hound Mix
Vitals: Up-to-date on vaccinations | Microchipped
The New Bark City Transparency Promise
At New Bark City, transparency is key. We provide a full, honest picture of our rescues so they can find their perfect match. Lucy is a stunning, happy-go-lucky girl who has made incredible strides in our care.
Her Story: A Hurricane Survivor
Lucy’s journey began as a hurricane rescue when she was just a tiny pup. After being adopted into a busy home with young children and multiple pets, the environment became too overwhelming for her sensitive nature. She was surrendered to us when her family moved, and we have spent the last several months giving her the stability she craved. Through no fault of her own, Lucy just needed a quieter "pack" to lead.
Health & Wellness: A Success Story
When Lucy first arrived in September, she struggled with a sensitive stomach (colitis) triggered by stress and a poor diet. We are proud to report she has not had a single episode since!
The "Secret": Her tummy is perfectly managed through a consistent, high-quality diet and healthy, bland snacks (like chicken jerky or the occasional graham cracker).
Medication-Free: She is not on any daily medications for anxiety or digestion. She simply needs a stable routine and to avoid "cheap" filler-heavy treats.
Personality & Home Life
The Perfect Shadow: Lucy is a "people person." She is at her happiest when someone is home with her. She would be an ideal companion for a retiree, someone who works from home, or a family with a consistent presence.
Polished Manners: She is a smart girl who knows her commands! She responds beautifully to "Go to your room," "Sit," "Stay," "No," and "Go lay down."
Crate & Routine: Lucy is crate trained and content in her "room." She has found her calm and is a dream companion when given a structured schedule.
Social Life: Lucy is friendly with other dogs! She currently roommates with Piper. Because she has a "dominant" play style, she does best with dogs her own size or larger who can match her athletic energy.
Ideal Home "Prescription"
Home Life: A household with older children or adults only is preferred to ensure a calm environment.
Structure: An adopter committed to a predictable schedule and high-quality nutrition.
Love: Lucy is a gorgeous, muscular, and incredibly loving girl who is finally ready for her true forever home.

Winny
Status: Available for Special Needs Adoption
Age: 2 Years, 7 Months (Approx.)
Gender: Female (Spayed)
Breed Mix: Bully Mix (White and Tan)
Vitals: Up-to-date on vaccinations | Microchipped
The New Bark City Transparency Promise
At New Bark City, transparency is key to a successful, loving home. We provide a 100% honest clinical and behavioral picture of every rescue in our care. Winnie is a "special soul" who requires a little extra TLC, and we are looking for a partner who is as committed to her comfort as we are.
Her Story
Winnie is a true survivor. Found abandoned, taken to a shelter, and failed by previous owners, she suffered from severe neglect before arriving at New Bark City. We have spent months stabilizing her medical needs so she can finally find the "forever" she deserves.
Personality & Home Life
Perfect Manners: 100% Potty Trained. Winnie has never had a single accident in our care, not even on her first day. She is very easygoing and quiet in the house.
Foodie at Heart: She is highly food-motivated, which makes training and administering her maintenance medication a breeze! While she loves her treats, she has excellent manners and does not beg at the table.
The "Slow Burn": Winnie is a laid-back, "chill" girl. She takes a moment to warm up to new people, but once she trusts you, she is deeply loyal.
Affection Style: She isn't a "velcro" dog. She is happy to sit at your feet or on the couch nearby. When she wants affection, she will come to you!
Social: Best as the only pet. She is selective with other dogs but is generally indifferent to cats.
Medical Management & Care
Winnie’s care is straightforward and manageable with a daily routine:
Allergy Management: She has chronic skin allergies and a severe flea sensitivity. She requires one daily pill (maintenance medication) and strict, year-round flea/heartworm prevention.
Ocular Care: She has "dry eye" in her right eye requiring simple drops twice daily.
Flare-Up Support: During seasonal changes, she may occasionally require a short course of inexpensive oral medication to keep her skin comfortable.
Appearance: Due to past neglect and previous lack of care, she has some permanent hair thinning that adds to her unique, resilient character.

Bowie
Bowie: The Valentine’s Miracle
Age: 1 Year (Born 1/9/25)
Gender: Male (Neutered/Microchipped)
Breed: Ibizian Hound Mix
Size: Medium
Status: In-Home Clinical Evaluation (Available Soon)
Overview
Story: Rescued on Valentine’s Day 2026, just minutes before a euthanasia order. Bowie had been returned to the shelter three times through no fault of his own. He was a "misunderstood puppy" labeled as a bite risk after a stressful incident with boundaries, but at New Bark City, we’ve seen nothing but a sweet, resilient soul. He is a white pup with a distinct ring around his right eye and adorable brown "cow spots" on his ear and belly.
Personality: High-energy, sensitive, and playful. He flinches at loud voices, suggesting a history of physical discipline, but he is learning to trust. He is a master of tug-of-war and a "Professional Shredder" of stuffies.
Training & Commands
Commands: Sit, Go to your room, Lay down, Come up, Outside/Inside.
House Training: Working on consistency; responds well to a structured schedule.
Temperament: Gentle but energetic. Takes treats with a very "soft mouth."
Ideal Prescription
Canine Companions: Dog Selective. He is "Power Pals" with Asta and loves Lucy and Piper (all spayed). He is less comfortable with intact males.
Feline Friends: Cat-friendly with "dog-savvy" cats like Baby. Not recommended for "swatter" cats.
Human Match: An active, patient family that uses Positive Reinforcement only. No loud-voice households. Best with a playful dog sibling to match his puppy energy.

Sadie
Sadie: The Port Richey Mystery
Overview & Story
Sadie was found wandering in the Port Richey area and was reportedly left in a parking lot. While she doesn't appear to have been on the streets for a long period, she arrived thin for her age and lacks the muscle mass she should have for her structure. Whether this is due to a lack of exercise or a previous medical condition, she is now in a safe place where her health is our top priority. We are actively looking for her original owners, but if they are not found, we will ensure she is fully restored before finding her a new forever loving family where she can spend the rest of her life.
Personality & Temperament
She is a friendly and loving "Quiet Observer." While she isn't quite ready for deep cuddling yet, she is settling in peacefully and showing a very gentle nature. She has shown positive curiosity toward other dogs and has successfully interacted with Buddy through the safety of her crate.
Clinical Recovery Plan
Nutritional Rehabilitation: She is currently eating very well and finishing every meal. We are focused on putting healthy weight on her using our specialized intake recipes.
Physical Therapy: Once she is through her initial decompression, we will begin a structured exercise program to help her build back the muscle tone in her legs.

Dorabella
🐾 Dorabella: A Sweet, Resilient Companion
Breed: White/Cream Lab Mix
Weight: Approx. 95 lbs
Age: Estimated 4-5 years old
Status:Coming Soon! (Pending Vet Visit/Assessment)
❤️ Her Story & Temperament
Dorabella is a gentle giant who has shown incredible resilience after being sadly left behind when her family moved away. This sweet girl is a calm, laid-back, and happy-go-lucky companion who adores people. She listens well to commands and is highly attentive. While she is not a super high-energy dog, she is looking for a relaxed home where she can be a cherished member of the family.
🏡 Ideal Home & Compatibility
People: Dorabella is excellent with people and thrives on human connection.
Other Dogs: She is selective and needs a careful introduction to potential canine siblings. She rooms successfully with a mellow male dog and can likely live happily with a calm companion, but a meet-and-greet is essential.
Cats: Dorabella has shown to be cat-friendly, preferring to ignore them.
Training & Routine: She understands the concept of crate training and will go into a kennel when directed. She knows basic commands and is a big, strong girl who walks well on a leash but may pull slightly.

Luna
👑 Mama Luna - A Heroic Mom Seeking a Peaceful Haven
🌟 Mama Luna's Vital Snapshot
Detail
Status
Age: 2 Years Old
Sex: Female (Will be Spayed)
Breed: Beagle Hound Mix
Size: Small to Medium (Approx. 38–42 lbs)
Availability: Estimated April (Pending Heartworm Treatment Completion)
Adopter Required: Female-Only Household
💖 A True Rescue Hero
Meet Mama Luna, a sweet, stunning Beagle Hound mix with a heroic story. Luna was a heart-breaking euthanasia rescue—pregnant and facing a dire situation. We intervened, and Luna successfully delivered three beautiful pups! She is now weaning her final babies and preparing for the next chapter: finding her forever home.
Luna is spunky, sweet, and absolutely loves her treats and chew toys (though you'll need to keep the TV remote out of sight, she has a mischievous side!).
🩺 Health and Timeline
We are committed to making sure Luna is 100% healthy before she goes to her adoptive home.
Heartworm Positive: Luna is currently heartworm positive. The good news is that she will begin her full heartworm treatment process shortly after her pups are completely weaned (in the next week or two).
Availability: She will be spayed and fully vaccinated, microchipped, and licensed before adoption. We anticipate her being ready for pickup around April, once her treatment is successfully complete.
Pre-Adoption: We are happy to arrange meet-and-greets as early as March and can place a hold on her for the right family.
🏠 Luna's Ideal Safe Haven
Luna's requirements are specific, but vital for her long-term happiness:
Female-Only Home: Due to assumed past trauma, Luna is fearful of men and does not like them. She must be placed in a single-woman home or a household with only women. This is a non-negotiable requirement to ensure her safety and comfort.
Dog Companions: She gets along with most dogs but can be selective. We believe she will thrive most and feel safest as the only dog in the home.
Cats: She walks past our resident cats daily without issue, but new introductions should still be done cautiously.
➡️ Could You Be Luna's Confident Protector?
This resilient mom has shown incredible strength and loyalty. She deserves a peaceful, loving home where she can be cherished and protected. If you can offer Mama Luna a secure, female-led home, please reach out!

Buddy
🐾 Buddy: The Resilient Gentleman & Our "Bunny-Hop" Hero ⚓
Buddy is a Walker Hound whose life has been a journey through storms—both literal and emotional. His story is a testament to why New Bark City exists for the "hard cases."
A Journey Through the Storms 🌪️
Buddy survived the devastation of Hurricane Helene in North Carolina. From there, he passed through multiple hands and homes where he just didn't "fit." He finally arrived at New Bark City to be rehomed—but our founder quickly saw what others had missed. Buddy wasn’t just a dog in need of a house; he was a senior soul in need of a hospital and a heart.
The Nurse’s Discovery 🩺
Our founder (a retired nurse) uncovered the truth: Buddy was much older than his records said. He arrived with severe dental decay (requiring full extractions), chronic bursitis, and legs so stiff he needs daily massages just to stand up.
His "Forever Harbor" ❤️
Buddy isn’t looking for a home anymore. We are his "Rock." Despite his hard life, he is the happiest soul—giving us "bunny hops" and a wagging tail every single day. He thrives on his "Cheese-Only" med protocol and a diet tailored for his toothless grin.
🎵 A Star in the Making: Buddy is even featured in our upcoming song, "No Reason" (coming soon to Spotify & Amazon Music!). When you hear the lyrics about our "Sweet Walker Hound," you’ll know exactly who we’re singing about.
Buddy will never be "put out" again. He is home, he is safe, and he is loved until the very end.

Trina
👑 The Queen’s Forever Harbor: Trina’s Story ❤️
When Trina first arrived at New Bark City, our hearts were full of hope. We saw a fighter who just needed a surgery and a "happily ever after" in a new home. We intended to be just a stepping stone.
But life had a different plan. 🐾
Due to unforeseen medical turns, the surgery that was supposed to be her "fix" is no longer possible. While this was a heavy realization, it led us to a beautiful promise: Trina doesn't have to look for a forever family anymore, because she is already home. ❤️⚓️
New Bark City has transitioned from her rescue to her Forever Harbor. She is now the heart of our Palliative Care Program.
Trina has a way of stealing hearts, but she stole the Founder's heart in a way that is hard to put into words. To honor that bond, our founder—a retired nurse who now spends her nights tending to Trina’s "up and down" struggles—couldn't help but write and sing a song specifically for her. This anthem was born out of a love for a dog that we just couldn't let go. 👑💖
🎵 Listen to the Queen's Song: You can hear this tribute dedicated to her on Facebook and Nextdoor, and soon on Spotify.
Trina isn't "unadoptable"—she is Home. Thank you for helping us give her the royal life she deserved all along.
