Age: 13 Weeks Old (as of this Thursday)
Sex: Female
Breed: Beagle Hound Mix
Size Estimate: Small to Medium Adult
Adoption Ready: Approximately 14 Weeks Old
Status: Available for Pre-Adoption/Hold
❤️ A Little Miracle!
Meet Koa! This adorable little girl is one of the three miracle pups born to our amazing rescue mom, Mama Luna. Thanks to your support, Koa and her siblings were saved, and now this happy, healthy puppy is thriving and ready to find her forever family!
Koa has the sweet, friendly nature of her Beagle Hound heritage. She is a bundle of puppy love and is currently hitting all of her developmental milestones perfectly. She is the most rambunctious and playful of her litter—a fun-loving little engine!
🗓️ Adoption Timeline
We are prioritizing Koa's health and socialization, and she will be ready to go home when she is approximately 14 weeks old.
Vetting is Complete: Koa will be spayed and up-to-date on all age-appropriate vaccinations and microchipped prior to finalizing the adoption.
The Wait is Worth It! Puppy adoption requires patience. We are now accepting applications for Koa! The perfect family can place a hold on her now and prepare their home for her arrival.
🏡 What Koa Needs
As a rambunctious, high-energy puppy, Koa will need a commitment to training and socialization to grow into a well-adjusted companion:
Energy Management: Koa is a super eater and very playful! She needs adopters prepared for a high-energy puppy phase, including plenty of safe play, exercise, and mental stimulation.
Training Commitment: Dedicated time for house training, crate training, and basic commands.
Love and Patience: Plenty of love, chew toys, and patient guidance through the sometimes-messy puppy phase!
➡️ Ready to Raise Koa?
If you are ready for the fun, joy, and commitment of raising a smart, sweet, and spirited puppy, Koa is waiting for you! She is a true gift, and we can’t wait to see her thrive in her permanent loving home.

Noonie
💜Headline: Meet Noonie: The "Honest" Heart You’ve Been Looking For
The Basics:
Age: Approximately 3 years old (The perfect "young adult" age!)
Weight: 48 lbs (Perfect medium-sized companion)
Health: Spayed, Microchipped, and UTD on all vaccinations.
Compatibility: Dog Selective (prefers calm/same-size friends); Cat-neutral; Likely great with kids.
Her Story:
Noonie is a resilient soul who has undergone a beautiful transformation. Originally found abandoned and suffering from severe kennel stress at a local shelter, we knew there was a "hidden gem" beneath the anxiety. After a month in our care and being completely settled off her medications, the "true" Noonie has blossomed—and she is even more wonderful than we imagined.
Her Personality:
Noonie is the definition of "honest." When she looks at you with her soulful puppy-dog eyes, you can feel the warmth and gratitude radiating off her. She has mastered the perfect balance: she is incredibly laid-back and chill most of the time, but she still has those adorable "Zoomie" moments where her inner puppy comes out to play!
The Ideal Home:
Because of her past trauma with loud noises, Noonie is looking for a "Peace & Quiet" kind of home. She isn't a fan of constant, obsessive barking, so a neighborhood or home that is a bit calmer would be her dream come true.
Dogs: She is dog-selective. She does well with dogs her size or smaller who aren't overbearing.
Cats: She has been a total lady around our rescue cats—ignoring them or even accepting a curious "kiss" without a grumble.
Activity: She is a dream on a leash! She loves her walks, but she’d also love a yard or a safe spot where she can let loose and get those Zoomies out.
A Note from her Rescuer:
"If I didn't need to save space for the next emergency rescue, I would keep Noonie in a heartbeat. She makes me smile every single day. She doesn't have an aggressive bone in her body—just a heart full of love waiting for the person who wants a true companion."

While not quite as rambunctious as her sibling, Koa, Lilly still has plenty of happy puppy energy! They are a great eater, love her chew toys, and are currently driving in her foster home. Lilly has beautiful, unique markings that make them stand out in the sweetest way.

Focus on Affection: Lilly is happiest when she is cuddling, playing, or being held. They will thrive with a family ready to shower them with love and attention.

Trina
👑 The Queen’s Forever Harbor: Trina’s Story ❤️
When Trina first arrived at New Bark City, our hearts were full of hope. We saw a fighter who just needed a surgery and a "happily ever after" in a new home. We intended to be just a stepping stone.
But life had a different plan. 🐾
Due to unforeseen medical turns, the surgery that was supposed to be her "fix" is no longer possible. While this was a heavy realization, it led us to a beautiful promise: Trina doesn't have to look for a forever family anymore, because she is already home. ❤️⚓️
New Bark City has transitioned from her rescue to her Forever Harbor. She is now the heart of our Palliative Care Program.
Trina has a way of stealing hearts, but she stole the Founder's heart in a way that is hard to put into words. To honor that bond, our founder—a retired nurse who now spends her nights tending to Trina’s "up and down" struggles—couldn't help but write and sing a song specifically for her. This anthem was born out of a love for a dog that we just couldn't let go. 👑💖
🎵 Listen to the Queen's Song: You can hear this tribute dedicated to her on Facebook and Nextdoor, and soon on Spotify.
Trina isn't "unadoptable"—she is Home. Thank you for helping us give her the royal life she deserved all along.

Buddy
🐾 Buddy: The Resilient Gentleman & Our "Bunny-Hop" Hero ⚓
Buddy is a Walker Hound whose life has been a journey through storms—both literal and emotional. His story is a testament to why New Bark City exists for the "hard cases."
A Journey Through the Storms 🌪️
Buddy survived the devastation of Hurricane Helene in North Carolina. From there, he passed through multiple hands and homes where he just didn't "fit." He finally arrived at New Bark City to be rehomed—but our founder quickly saw what others had missed. Buddy wasn’t just a dog in need of a house; he was a senior soul in need of a hospital and a heart.
The Nurse’s Discovery 🩺
Our founder (a retired nurse) uncovered the truth: Buddy was much older than his records said. He arrived with severe dental decay (requiring full extractions), chronic bursitis, and legs so stiff he needs daily massages just to stand up.
His "Forever Harbor" ❤️
Buddy isn’t looking for a home anymore. We are his "Rock." Despite his hard life, he is the happiest soul—giving us "bunny hops" and a wagging tail every single day. He thrives on his "Cheese-Only" med protocol and a diet tailored for his toothless grin.
🎵 A Star in the Making: Buddy is even featured in our upcoming song, "No Reason" (coming soon to Spotify & Amazon Music!). When you hear the lyrics about our "Sweet Walker Hound," you’ll know exactly who we’re singing about.
Buddy will never be "put out" again. He is home, he is safe, and he is loved until the very end.

Luna
👑 Mama Luna - A Heroic Mom Seeking a Peaceful Haven
🌟 Mama Luna's Vital Snapshot
Detail
Status
Age: 2 Years Old
Sex: Female (Will be Spayed)
Breed: Beagle Hound Mix
Size: Small to Medium (Approx. 38–42 lbs)
Availability: Estimated April (Pending Heartworm Treatment Completion)
Adopter Required: Female-Only Household
💖 A True Rescue Hero
Meet Mama Luna, a sweet, stunning Beagle Hound mix with a heroic story. Luna was a heart-breaking euthanasia rescue—pregnant and facing a dire situation. We intervened, and Luna successfully delivered three beautiful pups! She is now weaning her final babies and preparing for the next chapter: finding her forever home.
Luna is spunky, sweet, and absolutely loves her treats and chew toys (though you'll need to keep the TV remote out of sight, she has a mischievous side!).
🩺 Health and Timeline
We are committed to making sure Luna is 100% healthy before she goes to her adoptive home.
Heartworm Positive: Luna is currently heartworm positive. The good news is that she will begin her full heartworm treatment process shortly after her pups are completely weaned (in the next week or two).
Availability: She will be spayed and fully vaccinated, microchipped, and licensed before adoption. We anticipate her being ready for pickup around April, once her treatment is successfully complete.
Pre-Adoption: We are happy to arrange meet-and-greets as early as March and can place a hold on her for the right family.
🏠 Luna's Ideal Safe Haven
Luna's requirements are specific, but vital for her long-term happiness:
Female-Only Home: Due to assumed past trauma, Luna is fearful of men and does not like them. She must be placed in a single-woman home or a household with only women. This is a non-negotiable requirement to ensure her safety and comfort.
Dog Companions: She gets along with most dogs but can be selective. We believe she will thrive most and feel safest as the only dog in the home.
Cats: She walks past our resident cats daily without issue, but new introductions should still be done cautiously.
➡️ Could You Be Luna's Confident Protector?
This resilient mom has shown incredible strength and loyalty. She deserves a peaceful, loving home where she can be cherished and protected. If you can offer Mama Luna a secure, female-led home, please reach out!

Lucy
Lucy: The Loyal & Managed Beagle Mix
Lucy is a beautiful, 40-lb Beagle Mix (approx. 1 year, 5 months old) and a Hurricane Helene survivor! She came to us when her family downsized, but we soon learned she struggles with anxiety which previously led to health issues like colitis.
The Good News: Since being in our care, Lucy has been symptom-free for over a month! This proves she can thrive in the right environment. She is well-trained, listens beautifully, and is completely house-trained. While she has young dog energy, she calms down wonderfully and is ready to be a devoted companion.
Lucy's Ideal Home is a Special One:
Work-From-Home: Needs a devoted human who is home most of the time (works remotely) to manage her anxiety.
Only Pet: She needs to be the only pet in the household to prevent stress.
Adult-Only: Would do best in an adult-only home (or one with older, quiet teenagers) for a calm, consistent environment.
Calm & Consistent: Requires a predictable, low-stress routine.
Lucy is proof that the right home can change a life. Are you her perfect, patient match?

Dorabella
🐾 Dorabella: A Sweet, Resilient Companion
Breed: White/Cream Lab Mix
Weight: Approx. 95 lbs
Age: Estimated 4-5 years old
Status:Coming Soon! (Pending Vet Visit/Assessment)
❤️ Her Story & Temperament
Dorabella is a gentle giant who has shown incredible resilience after being sadly left behind when her family moved away. This sweet girl is a calm, laid-back, and happy-go-lucky companion who adores people. She listens well to commands and is highly attentive. While she is not a super high-energy dog, she is looking for a relaxed home where she can be a cherished member of the family.
🏡 Ideal Home & Compatibility
People: Dorabella is excellent with people and thrives on human connection.
Other Dogs: She is selective and needs a careful introduction to potential canine siblings. She rooms successfully with a mellow male dog and can likely live happily with a calm companion, but a meet-and-greet is essential.
Cats: Dorabella has shown to be cat-friendly, preferring to ignore them.
Training & Routine: She understands the concept of crate training and will go into a kennel when directed. She knows basic commands and is a big, strong girl who walks well on a leash but may pull slightly.

Winny
🐾 Winnie - Two-Time Survivor Seeking Patient Love
🌟 Winnie: Vital Snapshot
Age: 2.5 Years Old
Sex: Female (Spayed)
Breed: Bully Mix (White & Tan)
Vet Status: Up to Date on Vaccinations & Microchipped
Current Issues: Skin Allergies & Occasional Dry Eye
Temperament: Laid-Back, Friendly (Once comfortable)
💖 The Heart of Winnie
Meet Winnie, a gorgeous, two-and-a-half-year-old Bully mix who embodies resilience. She is a gentle soul who has already faced more challenges than any dog should—she has been abandoned twice. Despite this, she is incredibly laid-back, potty trained (she lets you know when she needs to go!), and once she warms up, she is a loyal, loving friend who will happily settle down for a cuddle when she's feeling well.
Her favorite things in the world are leisurely walks, gnawing on a good bone, and destroying soft stuffies (stuffed animals). She needs a quiet, patient home where she can finally feel safe and respected.
🩺 What You Need to Know About Her Health
Winnie is a wonderful dog, but we are being completely transparent to ensure her next home is her forever home. She does come with a few manageable health needs:
Skin Allergies: Winnie currently suffers from a flare-up of skin allergies and is on medication to manage discomfort.
Crucial Testing Needed: We are dedicated to finding the root cause of her allergies (food or environmental) and are currently raising funds to get her comprehensive allergy testing. This will ensure her adopters have the best long-term care plan!
Eye Care: She experiences occasional dry eye, which is easily managed with simple eye drops as needed.
Your Support is Needed! If you'd like to help us give Winnie the gift of comfort and clarity, please consider donating toward her allergy testing:Hit that donate button
🏡 Winnie’s Ideal Home
Winnie is medium-energy and needs a specific environment to thrive:
Patience is Key: Due to her past and her current skin condition, she needs an adopter who respects her boundaries. She may be fearful initially, and when she has a flare-up, she doesn't like to be touched much—but she will come over and let you know exactly when she wants love!
Respectful Boundaries: She is currently working on food guarding. A new owner must be patient and prepared to continue management and training around her food bowl.
Quiet Environment: She would be happiest in an adult-only home with no children and no cats.
Vet Visits: Please note she requires a muzzle for vet appointments as she finds them very stressful.
➡️ Could You Be Winnie's Forever Human?
Winnie deserves a fresh start with someone who is patient, loving, and ready to help manage her few issues. Managing her health is a small price to pay for the endless love and loyalty this two-time survivor has to offer.
